Protected error on SONY Receiver?

Hi,

Do you aware of this problem on SONY Home Theater Receivers. Audio is sometimes stopped and receiver displays "PROTECTED". I read the manual but it does not have any reason other than trouble shooting the error. Manual says power cycle the receiver and connected devices as well. Any clue?
