A customer report on a regional online movie vendor
in
Hi,
I just came accross this and thought it would be good idea to post it here.
"Hi Folks,
I am not sure if anyone in this alias tried to use tamilgrounds.com and canceled their monthly subscription.
Since my parents are visiting me and most of the DVD's I rent have scratches and stops half way through I decided to subscribe for regional online movies from this merchant. The terms and condition said that it is an monthly recurring billing and if you need to cancel it you should open an online helpdesk ticket 3 days prior to end of the monthly subscription. Along with the terms and conditions if the user tries to access their website to watch movies after cancellation in the subsequent months then they will charge the account and the cancellation
becomes void.
I felt they don't even have proper copyrights for some of the movies since the quality of the movies were so bad so I decided to cancel my subscription. As per the terms I did open a ticket 3 days prior to end of the monthly subscription but they closed the ticket after 2 and 1/2 days saying appropriate action will be taken and this ticket is closed for now if further assistance is needed re-open the ticket. Fortunately I happen to notice that the ticket was closed with no confirmation I re-opened the ticket asking for confirmation. The reply was made after
the 3rd day that the subscription is canceled but they went ahead and charged my credit card. I am sure I never accessed their website other than for dealing with their online ticket after cancellation so I disputed the charges with my credit card company but now ChargeBackBureau.org contacts me who inturn responds
Contact your Credit Card Company / bank and have them revert the
chargeback, this way we can return the 39$ processing fee only back to you.
We have given you one last option if you?d like to have the chargeback processing fee refunded back:
If customer (you) fails to do so we have the following options: 1. Collect the fees + any processing fees with their credit card company through our collection agency worldwide .
2. Contact customer's ISP in prove of their ip address that was recorded and send a log of proof to court.
The worst part of it is the merchant deleted the ticket I opened with them to cancel the subscription. Fortunately I have a hard copy as proof . Looks like this is a fraud and I am sure all their subscribers who would want to unsubscribe would have gone through the same ordeal. If anyone has come across such problem with this merchant let me know so I could build up a strong case against this merchant and report them appropriately.
Thanks"
