Hi All, I myself have gone through all the process for my canadian immigration and would like to make you aware that its not that easy and quick. Its especially true if you are out of India, either studying or working. All NRIs are required to get the certificate by applying at Indian High Commission office or at Indian Embassy of the country of residence. So, if you are in Australia you MUST apply in person accordingly. It takes about 5-6 weeks to get the certificate through Indian Embassy / High Commission. As I am working in US, it took me exactly 5 weeks to get my Indian PCC through Indian Embassy over here. If you are in India, you need to apply in person for the certificate at your local Passport Office. If you are non-citizen and in India, you need to apply in person at Local Police Station. If you have time, you may wish to have a look at FORM 47P, thats available at www.immi.gov.au to verify the above facts. The form gives countrywise guidelines / requirements to obtain the Police Clearance Certificate. So, its better to plan in advance and expect at least 5-6 weeks to get the PCC. If you are lucky...you may get it earlier!! Cheers!

Hi, It could be atleast 2 weeks. If you consult your local police dept, you can have more idea on this. Sometimes they can give it immly. Goodluck Mani
