An accomplished vocalist of the Gwalior Gharana, Vikas Kashalkar was trained by the powerful vocalist and violinist Gajananrao Joshi, and comes from a musical family - his brother Ulhas Kashalkar is also a well-known classical singer. Vikas regularly performs on All India Radio, and is a regular lecturer at the University of Poona, India, where he lives. His style involves "taan" patterns of great variety and imagination.
