Nishanth Chari studies with the prominent sitarist Shujaat Khan, son of Vilayat Khan. Nishanth comes from a family with a Carnatic music heritage - his grandfather Parthasarathy Iyengar ("Papasami") was a well-known patron and disciple of Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar. Nishanth has performed in several concerts in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, the East Coast, and India.
