As always, we have some exciting events planned for you this summer.

Mangalagaur 2009

We cordially invite you to join us to celebrate “Mangalagaur 2009” on July 25th, 09.
The program will start with the traditional Mangalagaur pooja. Please visit http://www.mmbayarea.org for pooja samagri list. Pooja will be followed by games arranged exclusively for ladies, such as Ukhane spardha, Sangeet-khurchi, Zimma-Phugadi etc. A delicious maharashtrian lunch will be served while you are enjoying these competitions. "Swaranjali" by Smt. Asha Khadilkar

MMBA is proud to present Natyageet, Bhaavgeet, Abhanga and classical concert by Smt. Asha Khadilkar. This concert will have songs by legendary Manik Varma, Balgandharva, Jitendra Abhisheki, Vasantrao Deshpande, Dinanath Mangeshkar and so on along with popular songs of her own.

Nishanth Chari studies with the prominent sitarist Shujaat Khan, son of Vilayat Khan. Nishanth comes from a family with a Carnatic music heritage - his grandfather Parthasarathy Iyengar ("Papasami") was a well-known patron and disciple of Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar. Nishanth has performed in several concerts in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, the East Coast, and India.
